After a week of a great deal of production and assignments, yesterday, we had a break before we’re back on the highway. So, after a selection that would be “photo appropriate”, and a little of a struggle to obtain a huge pumpkin into the small red wagon, we headed home and the huge pumpkin was taken to the studio room.
At right is one of the ultimate images, and after the jump is a stop-action 4-minute video displaying the entire project, from begin to finish, in about 1,000 individual still images. We began the carving with one of our cut-out tools after a quick sharpie sketch. Removing the meat in the pumpkin and we were ready to shoot, with a clean white background. Grace, our 8-month old came on collection for most of about 3 minutes, with my helper Suzanne Behsudi handling the background and my partner securing Grace, I made a series of structures which I was fairly pleased with. Ø Control: – The departmentation should be so that it facilitates the measurement of performance and well-timed corrective action. Effective control helps to achieve organizational goals efficiently and economically.
Ø Cost: – The design and the number of departments should be so decided that maximum possible overall economy is achieved in the utilization of physical facilities and workers. Ø Special attention: – The various activities should get adequate attention so that all necessary activity is conducted and there is absolutely no unnecessary duplication of activities. Ø Local Conditions: – Ought to be sufficiently considered in a scheme of decentralization. Departmentation should be adjusted according to available resources. Ø Human consideration: – the living of informal groupings, ethnic patterns, value system, etc. should get due consideration. Focus on individual factors will make departmentation better and effective.
